The Foundation was established in 2024 on the initiative of Magdalena Nowakowska, a kartvelist, literary translator and cultural animator, and Monika Franczak, a radio journalist, screenwriter and film expert, who have been involved in educational, cultural and scientific activities in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans for over two decades.

 

The Komos Foundation actively supports intercultural dialogue, understanding across divisions, and human rights in Poland and abroad.  With particular focus on strengthening democracy and civil society, the Foundation supports activities involving film, music, literature, and the visual arts.
